DIALOGUE Events
The DIALOGUE Final Dissemination Conference in Brussels, 15 October 2013, was a one-day event, planned as an interactive dialoguing event where the findings of the project were actively discussed. A panel of four external experts and a keynote speach by Prof Maria Slowey complemented the interactive workshops.
The DIALOGUE Symposium in Glasgow, 22 March 2013 was a one-day event, during which the DIALOGUE network discussed with invited experts and local ULLL researchers, ULLL practitioners and learners the link between research and practice in (U)LLL. First findings from the SWOT and Network Analyses of partners’ case studies and national overviews enriched the discussions.
SWOT and Network Analyses
The DIALOGUE project partners have deepen in their work by making a SWOT analysis of their Case Studies. Network analyses of their environment have also been prepared, showing how dialogue exists between research and practice.

Case Studies and National Overviews
During the first year of DIALOGUE, project partners compiled case studies which provide examples of cooperation or ‘dialogue’ between researchers and practitioners in University lifelong learning (ULLL). The Case Studies are listed according to the thematic working group, for which they were produced:
These case studies are complemented by national reports or overviews which provide information on the current state of play between research and professional practice in ULLL. The national overviews are not intended to present a full report on the state of play, but rather information which adds to the understanding of the subject areas in which the case studies are located.

The University of Strathclyde will host a Research seminar on ‘Improving the research-practice dialogue to promote access and progression of non-traditional students in higher education.’, presented by Lyn Tett, Visiting Professor of Lifelong Learning, University of Strathclyde.
